The Brief
Transport for London (TfL) appointed Love Design Studio and Haptic Architects to develop a strategic project to improve the thermal performance of buildings across the London Underground estate.
The project creates a framework for delivering building fabric improvements across more than 2,500 TfL buildings, supporting the organisation's ambition to achieve net zero operations by 2030.
The Solution
Working with Haptic, Love Design Studio developed a structured methodology and practical toolkit to help TfL make informed decisions about improving the energy performance of its estate.
The toolkit combines existing estate data with targeted, building-specific data collection, enabling TfL to identify coordinated, cost-effective, and priority actions that deliver significant improvements to building fabric.
The Result
The resulting Sustainable Building Fabric Strategy provides TfL with a clear pilot framework for use across its estate.
The toolkit and strategy will enable a targeted, cost-effective and high-impact approach to the fabric improvement of all TfL assets, based on energy performance and operational relevance.
