The Brief
The proposal is a new 101-key hotel in Hackney Wick, designed to bring together local creatives, community groups and guests, creating a cultural destination that reflects the area’s identity.
Love Design Studio was appointed at pre-application stage to support the design development, undertaking an Air Quality Assessment, Circular Economy Statement, Sustainability Statement, and Whole Life-Cycle Carbon Assessment in support of the planning application.
The Solution
Love Design Studio provided sustainability guidance during concept design to ensure the proposals met and exceeded local policy requirements and supported a strong BREEAM outcome.
Detailed air quality and energy modelling was carried out to provide the evidence base for key BREEAM credits, including Ene 01, Hea 01 and Hea 02, informing the design and supporting compliance with assessment requirements.
The Result
Love Design Studio continued to support the project through the design stages as BREEAM Assessor, helping to ensure the scheme achieved its targeted sustainability credentials.
