Our Manifesto for Change
We believe the built environment must put people first. Climate change, resource depletion and rising temperatures are already shaping how we live, work and experience our buildings and places. They affect how comfortably we sleep, how safely we work, how children learn, how vulnerable communities cope during heatwaves, and how equitable our cities will be for generations to come.
This belief, that human experience must sit at the heart of climate action, is what guides our work. It is why we engage with architects, planners, developers, contractors, universities, local authorities and communities. It is why we speak as practitioners and researchers, as designers and scientists, as collaborators and advocates.
Our Manifesto for Change sets out our vision for a healthier, more resilient built environment, built around three key initiatives and areas of action.
Love Zero Waste, being resource efficient throughout the entire supply chain, from design and construction to use and re-use
Love Retrofit, upgrading or retrofitting our building stock to benefit users and reduce the impact on the climate crisis.
Love Adaptation, adapting our built environment to help people to thrive in a changing climate.
Together, these initiatives represent our call for a built environment reimagined for people, materials and climate.
